PartnersforLife GRAND LODGE A.F. & A.M. OF CANADA Blood Donor Year End REPORT Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Canada In the Province of Ontario Report of Blood Donations for period of April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010 District Blood Donor Chair: Rt. Wor. Bro. Gary Bloomfield
DISTRICT: ALGOMA DISTRICT DEPUTY GRAND MASTER: Rt. Wor. Bro. William Davis What started out fifteen years ago as an annual blood and plasma donation challenge between the Lodges of Algoma District, quickly grew, under the leadership and enthusiasm of local Freemasons, into an annual competition not only between the Lodges, but between several community teams. The result, we believe, has provided a proven pattern for the Canadian Blood Services to develop their national "Partners For Life" program. Since its humble beginnings, our Freemasons Community Plasma Challenge has resulted in Algoma District being able to report to our Grand Lodge - 56,554 plasma donations, which most importantly has resulted in over 165,000 Canadians having their personal health conditions improved and even their lives saved. We have now set our sights on reaching 100,000 plasma donations. The synergy we have developed between not only C.B.S. and our brethren in Freemasonry, but our families and friends in our community will continue to carry us forward to this achievement. The light of Freemasonry continues to shine at our Thunder Bay Plasma Donation Center.
