Old Tymers Night

At the annual Old Tymer's Night, Shuniah Lodge honored Bros. Terry Westlake and H. Carl Sharp

Bro. Terry Westlake

Bro. Terry Westlake was born in Port Arthur graduating from P.A.C.I.. He went onto Ontario Fire College in later life. He worked for the Telephone Department for twenty years before moving on to the Fire Department as an Investigator/Inspector becoming an expert in oxygen enrichment in fires.

 

Terry has a camp at Shebandowan Lake where he and his wife Irene spend their summers, Irene is the daughter of Bro. George Harvey of Shuniah.

 

They have one son Douglas.

 

Terry joined Shuniah Lodge in 1973, he is a member of Scottish Rite and Shrine. His claim to fame is that he is responsible with George Humby for bringing back oyster night to Shuniah Lodge.

 

 

 

Bro. H. Carl Sharp

Bro. Carl Sharp was born in Port Arthur and went to Hillcrest High School, then named Port Arthur Tech. He started in the Port Arthur city engineering department and rose to the position of City Engineer. He later became the City Manager for Port Arthur and continued in that position when it became part of the city of Thunder Bay.

 

Carl is married to Joann and together they like to travel and have been to England, Chile, and Cuba this year alone. Carl is a member of The Grand Sasso Club and can be seen cooking for them at the Old Fort.

 

Carl joined Shuniah Lodge in 1961, where his father was a Shuniah member since 1934. He is a member of Scottish Rite and Shrine.
