Meet The Worshipful Master - 2017

 

Worshipful Brother John Watson

 

Brother John Watson started his career in Community Corrections in 1981 as a Probation Officer in Alberta and came back home, to Thunder Bay, in 1985 to continue his career as a Probation and Parole officer for the Province of Ontario.

 

Born in Glasgow Scotland and raised in Thunder Bay he married his wife Carol in 1990. Carol and John, have two children. Zachary, who works for a civil engineering firm and Erin, a second year Social Work Student at Wilfred Laurier University.

 

Besides his many lodge commitments, John is the Chair of the Board at Westminster United Church.

 

He is an active Unionist and OPSEU member. He has been a Local President and a member of four Provincial Bargaining Teams as well as many Provincial committees. Presently he sits on the Joint Insurable Benefits Review Committee which conducts appeals of benefit entitlements for the Ontario Public Service. John is active in the York Rite and is presently Third Principal of Shuniah Chapter of Royal Arch Masons.

 

In the little spare time John has, he is active in Amateur Radio and is known as VE3GTX.
